Monolithos Side Table
The piece begins with a compact, elementary form that is transformed by vertical reliefs, shadows, and undulating lines that run along the top, base, and edges of the volume. It ceases to be a mere covering material and becomes a source of depth and rhythm.
The piece’s apparent simplicity conceals a precise construction. The volume is closed, dense, and contained, yet the texture breaks the rigidity of the form and introduces a tactile, almost architectural dimension. Each cutout creates variation; each shadow reveals the intention behind the gesture.
“Monolithos” approaches sculpture without abandoning its function. This freestanding piece is an autonomous body in space, capable of existing in isolation or in dialogue with other modules.
A serene object, marked by strength, by the repetition of the relief, and by the silent presence of the block.
