Monolithos Side Table

The piece begins as a compact, basic form, which is transformed by the vertical reliefs, the shadows and the undulating lines that run along the top, the base and the edges of the volume. It ceases to be a mere covering material and becomes a source of depth and rhythm.

The piece’s apparent simplicity conceals a precise construction. The volume is enclosed, dense and restrained, yet the texture breaks the rigidity of the form and introduces a tactile, almost architectural dimension. Each cut-out creates variation; each shadow reveals the intention behind the gesture.

“Monolithos” approaches sculpture without abandoning its function. This freestanding piece is an autonomous body in space, capable of existing in isolation or in dialogue with other modules.
