Duna Armchair

The armchair rises from a continuous curve that descends from the backrest to the seat, as if it were a surface shaped by time. The line is neither rigid nor abrupt: it curves, cradles and extends fluidly, offering support to the body without the design losing its strength.

The low profile brings the piece closer to the floor, whilst the cylindrical supports lend it stability and an almost sculptural presence. There is a subtle tension between lightness and density: the form appears to be suspended, yet it has a firm base, marked by the repetition of rounded volumes.

The texture reinforces the piece’s tactile dimension. It brings it closer to materiality, to fibre, and to an idea of a silent landscape, without resorting to literal representation. Movement is present in the curve, in the thickness of the upholstery, and in the way the surface seems to yield to cradle the body.
